Based in St. Louis, Missouri, South City Stitch Works is a two-person operation that makes both custom and production bags. Zach Smith, owner and operator, recently announced that they’ll be expanding their production options to include waxed-canvas bags for Wald 137 and 139 bike baskets. Utilizing 12-ounce waxed cotton duck canvas and a waterproof HyperD 300 liner, these bags attach to the basket at two webbing-and-buckle points. Zach also noted that he designed the bags with an interior Velcro strap at the rim so users can max out the bag’s capacity while maintaining a secure closure.

The bags have an estimated capacity of 25L and are highly water-resistant thanks to the duck canvas and HyperD liner. Like many basket bags, they use plastic buckles and a roll-top closure to secure their load. The bags retail for $155 and are currently offered in Black, Khaki, Sage, or Grey. Custom colors are also available.
