The Minnesota Timberwolves revealed a new visual identity on Sunday, introducing updated logos, uniforms, and branding elements that draw inspiration from multiple eras of the franchise’s 36-year history.

The Association and Icon uniforms bring back the white, blue, and green color scheme worn during the team’s inaugural 1989-90 season.

The Statement uniform revives the popular black pine tree-era look, replacing the traditional “Timberwolves” wordmark with a simplified “Wolves” design outlined in blue and green.

The pine tree trim also returns, featuring a glowing blue accent inspired by Minnesota’s thousands of lakes.

“This franchise means something different to every generation of fans,” Timberwolves and Lynx CEO Matt Caldwell said.

“We wanted this new look to reflect the pieces of Timberwolves basketball fans have always connected with, while also feeling true to the team and culture surrounding this franchise today.”

Several additional details were incorporated into the redesign, including a custom “Tree-M” logo on the belt buckle and a row of five trees above the jock tag representing a team’s starting lineup.

The jersey numbers and lettering feature wolf-inspired design elements, while the trim references the three-stripe pattern from the organization’s original uniforms.

The updated primary logo maintains the franchise’s signature wolf imagery while returning to blue and green colors similar to those used during the early years of the team.
