The New Orleans Pelicans could revisit Trey Murphy trade scenarios after LeBron James decides which team he will play for this upcoming season. The Pelicans listened to trade offers around the draft but maintained a high asking price for Murphy.

"Chatter about a Trey Murphy trade, while lessened, hasn't vanished and is one of many potential pieces of league business that could resurface once LeBron James' next destination becomes clear," writes John Hollinger at The Athletic.

Murphy, who averaged 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists across 66 games last season while shooting 37.9 percent from three-point range, is under contract through the 2029 offseason on a four-year, $112 million deal. He will earn $27 million next season.

The Pelicans selected Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears in the first round last season and represent their youth movement. But the Pelicans also retain mid-career veterans such as Murphy, Zion Williamson, Dejounte Murray and Herb Jones.
