Fury’s weight is two pounds lighter than it was for his April victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov as he continues his comeback following a 16-month spell out of the ring.

The former heavyweight champion said consecutive training camps have helped him regain sharpness ahead of his 39th professional fight.

“Yes, this is my second camp back-to-back after a 16-month lay-off. I’m getting sharper, fitter, and stronger every day,” Fury told Sky Sports.

The size difference stood out at the weigh-in, with the 6ft 7in Wach outweighing Fury by nearly two stone. Despite the disparity, Fury said he is focused on activity rather than looking beyond Friday’s fight.

“I’ve never faced a man heavier than me. I’m very happy to be fighting. I’m not banking on any fight happening or not happening. I’m a fighter, I want to keep busy. I’ve had one fight in over two years.”

Fury also outlined the approach he wants to take against the experienced Pole.

“I want to box his head off for 12 rounds, if possible. I’m there to box and move, use my attributes. I’ve got to be 100 per cent focused, switched on, take nobody as an easy touch and do my job, like I always do.”

The contest takes place before an audience of around 1,500 fans at Max Muay Thai Stadium and is widely viewed as another step toward a proposed November showdown with Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has his own assignment this weekend, facing Kristian Prenga in Jeddah on Saturday. Fury has already confirmed he will not travel to Saudi Arabia after his fight.

Friday’s event will not be shown live. Instead, footage from Fury’s bout with Wach will feature in the next season of Netflix’s At Home with the Furys.
