Tyson Fury claims to be searching for an alternative opponent while accusing Anthony Joshua of being a “weak-minded piece of s**t”.

The two British heavyweights seemingly remain in talks for a showdown later this year, yet ‘The Gypsy King’ has cast further doubt over whether it will actually happen.

As things stand, both fighters have signed separate contracts to headline a Netflix event on November 20, with Joshua’s deal stipulating that they must collide in the UK.

After their respective warm-up fights in July, it then became clear that those who intend to bankroll the event would prefer it takes place in the US.

More specifically, New York’s Madison Square Garden was named as a likely venue, only for Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn to confirm that talks have reopened for a clash on British soil.

Since then, though, Fury has taken to social media on multiple occasions to express his doubt that Joshua is even willing to meet him in the ring.

In terms of his options for a replacement opponent, meanwhile, it would appear that the 38-year-old is eager for a trilogy bout with Oleksandr Usyk.

“It looks like AJ has s**t his pants, yet again. This would only lead me to a fight with Oleksandr Usyk. Oleksandr, you’re his trainer and his sensei – and you know he’s a weak-minded piece of s**t and that he’ll never fight The Gypsy King, which you’ve had the guts to do twice.“

“You got the decisions last time – fair play to you; good luck to you – but let’s do it again. Let’s run it back in November – the ball is now in your court, Oleksandr.“

“Do you want to fight me this year, or are you calling it quits? Let me know, because I’m now looking for a new opponent.”

Usyk outpointed Fury on two occasions in 2024, edging a split decision in their first encounter before securing a unanimous verdict the second time around.
