The Octagon returned to California for tonight’s UFC Sacramento event, and four fighters wound up taking home performance bonuses.

The fight card was headlined by a key middleweight showdown featuring Alexander Hernandez taking on Gregory Rodrigues. The bout proved to be a grueling back and forth affair. Gregory Rodrigues got off to a strong start in the contest, battering the lead leg of Anthony Hernandez which led to multiple knockdowns in the first two rounds. However, ‘Fluffy’ was able to storm back in round three and it appeared that the momentum had switched in his favor headed into the championship rounds. Unfortunately for the hometown favorite, ‘Robocop’ seemingly caught a second wind in round four and proceeded to continue his onslaught of heavy right hands and low kicks. After an entertaining fifth and final round, Rodrigues was awarded a much-deserved unanimous decision win from the judges in attendance.

UFC Sacramento was co-headlined by a heavyweight contest between Serghei Spivac and Vitor Petrino. The matchup resulted in a fourth straight victory ‘Cabuloso’, who was able to get the better of the ‘Polar Bear’ for three straight rounds on route to a unanimous decision victory.

Following the conclusion of tonight’s event, UFC officials announced at the post-fight press conference that 4 fighters would be taking home performance bonuses.
