Streaking UFC welterweight contender Uros Medic will headline his first UFC main event in Serbia later this summer.

UFC welterweight contender Uros Medic is closing in on the division’s title mix after a brutal ‘Knockout of the Year’ candidate against Geoff Neal earlier this year at UFC Houston. The Dana White’s Contender Series alum has been a force since making the full-time return to the welterweight division, winning four of his last five fights.

Medic adds to an already stacked UFC welterweight division with his dangerous striking and balanced skill set. Recent wins over Muslim Salikhov and Gilbert Urbina show Medic’s evolution since an up-and-down start to his UFC career.

Uros Medic vs. Daniel Rodriguez headlines UFC’s first-ever event in Serbia

As announced by the promotion on Monday, Medic will face fellow Top 15 welterweight Daniel Rodriguez in the UFC Serbia main event on August 1st in Belgrade. Rodriguez returns to the Octagon after three consecutive victories, including a recent unanimous decision win over Kevin Holland at UFC 318 last year.

This will also be Rodriguez’s first-career UFC main event after a long tenure in the promotion. Rodriguez rose to prominence after wins over Kevin Lee, Mike Perry, and Alex Morono earlier in his career.

Medic vs. Rodriguez adds to an exciting card for the UFC’s first-ever event in Serbia. Former UFC light heavyweight contender Aleksandar Rakic will move up to heavyweight to fight Marcin Tybura in a matchup that promises fireworks.
