Concerns surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s trade value earlier this offseason may be fading as teams reconsider his importance in a league increasingly shaped by Victor Wembanyama, via Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Executives previously pointed to Antetokounmpo’s injury history, age, and possible supermax extension as factors that complicated his market value.

However, Wembanyama’s dominance this season, especially during the playoffs, has reportedly reignited interest in acquiring players capable of defending him.

The report also noted that several contenders, including the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers, have previously been linked to Antetokounmpo.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Spurs reportedly remain hesitant to part with the massive trade packages Milwaukee would likely demand.
