FIVB President Fabio Azevedo, Indonesia’s Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir, Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Patrick Gregorio and AVC President Ramon Suzara held a strategic meeting to discuss plans and opportunities surrounding the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup 2029, which will be hosted in the Philippines.

The meeting brought together leaders from international volleyball, government and sports administration to explore opportunities for collaboration as preparations for the 2029 global competition move forward.

AVC President Suzara joined FIVB President Azevedo in discussions with Minister Thohir and Chairman Gregorio on plans for the Philippines-hosted event and how cooperation among key stakeholders can contribute to its successful delivery.

“The 2029 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup will be another important moment for volleyball in Asia and for the Philippines,” AVC President Suzara said. “Hosting the world’s best teams gives us an opportunity not only to deliver a world-class competition, but also to inspire more people, especially the next generation, to become part of our sport.”

AVC President Suzara also emphasized the importance of collaboration among international, continental and national sports organizations in maximizing the impact of major events.

“Strong partnerships will be essential as we prepare for 2029. By working together with the FIVB, government and our sports stakeholders, we can create a lasting impact that goes beyond the competition itself and contributes to the continued growth of volleyball across Asia,” AVC President Suzara added.

Hosting the 2029 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup will once again place the Philippines on the global volleyball stage and provide another opportunity to build on the country’s growing engagement with international volleyball.
