Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe agreement adds PBC’s roster to DAZN’s growing stable of promoters and begins with Errol Spence Jr.’s July 25 return against Tim Tszyu
Premier Boxing Champions has reached a broadcast agreement with DAZN, bringing another of boxing’s leading promoters to the streaming platform. The partnership begins with Errol Spence Jr.’s return against Tim Tszyu on July 25 and expands DAZN’s position as the home of many of the sport’s biggest promotional companies.
DAZN announced Thursday that PBC and TGB Promotions have joined its growing boxing lineup, which already includes Matchroom Boxing, Queensberry Promotions, Top Rank, Golden Boy Promotions, Boxxer, Salita Promotions and MF Pro.
The first event under the agreement takes place on July 25 when Errol Spence Jr. returns against Tim Tszyu in Sydney, Australia. DAZN also confirmed that Rolando “Rolly” Romero’s August 22 showdown with Teofimo Lopez will be available on DAZN through Prime Video.
One important point for fans is that not every PBC event will be included with a standard DAZN subscription. The promotion’s major pay-per-view cards will continue to be sold through Prime Video, while DAZN subscribers will also receive a regular schedule of non-pay-per-view events beginning September 19 and October 17.
The agreement also gives DAZN access to one of boxing’s deepest talent pools. Fighters expected to appear on the platform include David Benavidez, Sebastian Fundora, Tim Tszyu, Errol Spence Jr., Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, Lamont Roach Jr., Jaime Munguia, Brandon Figueroa, Mario Barrios, Erislandy Lara, Gary Antuanne Russell and Jesus Ramos Jr.
Perhaps the biggest long-term impact is that DAZN now works with most of boxing’s leading promoters. While sanctioning bodies, mandatory challengers and promotional politics will still influence which fights get made, having so many companies operating on the same platform removes one obstacle that has complicated major bouts in the past.
For fans, the immediate result is straightforward: more high-profile cards will be available through DAZN, beginning with Spence’s return later this month, while the possibility of more cross-promotional matchups has become easier to envision under a shared broadcast home.
