Carlos Carrasco has performed unremarkably in limited opportunities for the Braves this year: five games, nine innings,3.00 ERA, 4.40 FIP, 111 DRA-. He has only an 11% strikeout rate, but has also issued only one walk. The emphasis, though, should probably be on limited.
But his transaction log, by contrast, has been almost unlimited:
- Last August: Signed to a minor-league contract with the Braves, started six games for Gwinnett in 2025 and four in 2026
- April 23: Called up, pitched an inning of relief that day
- April 29: Designated for assignment
- May 1: Elected free agency, signed a minor-league contract with the Braves, didn’t pitch for Gwinnett
- May 2: Called up, pitched 1⅓ innings of relief that day
- May 5: Designated for assignment
- May 7: Elected free agency
- May 8: Signed minor-league contract with the Braves, started two games for Gwinnett
- May 21: Called up, pitched an inning of relief on May 24 and four innings on May 27
- May 29: Designated for assignment
- May 31: Elected free agency
- June 1: Signed minor-league contract with the Braves, didn’t pitch for Gwinnett
- June 2: Called up, pitched 1⅔ innings of relief on June 9
- June 10: Designated for assignment
- June 12: Elected free agency
- June 14: Signed minor-league contract with the Braves
