Wolverhampton Wanderers, Norwich City, and Burnley are three of the teams hoping to secure promotion back to the Premier League by the end of the Championship season.
All three clubs invested money in the summer transfer window in an effort to build squads capable of fighting in the top half of the second tier, although the Canaries and the Clarets both sit in the bottom half at the moment.
Whilst the January transfer window is still a few months away, all three of those clubs may be starting to think about what they could do in the winter to propel themselves to promotion in the second half of the campaign.
One road that they could go down is to bring in a loan player from the Premier League, as there have been many success stories with such deals over the years, including current Ballon d'Or favourite Harry Kane.
Harry Kane's journey through the EFL
After impressing at academy level for Tottenham Hotspur, the English marksman had his first taste of EFL action on loan at Leyton Orient in League One, as he scored five goals in 18 appearances in the 2010/11 campaign.
The following season, Spurs sent Kane out on loan to Millwall in the Championship and he caught the eye with a return of nine goals and five assists in 27 appearances in all competitions.
After that first experience in the second tier, the young striker was deemed good enough for the Premier League and sent out on loan to Norwich in the 2011/12 season, but he failed to score in five games for the Canaries.

Wolves, Burnley and Norwich eyeing the next Harry Kane
Now, some of the Championship's promotion contenders are eyeing up a deal to sign a forward who could be the division's next version of Kane.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is open to the idea of sending winger Max Dowman out on loan for the second half of the season, as he will be eligible to go out on loan when he turns 17 at the end of December.
The report claims that 12 teams have already made contact to hold talks with the Premier League champions, including Cardiff City, Norwich, Burnley, Wolves, and Luton Town.
Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers are also said to be looking at the England youth international, but the outlet adds that the Gunners will only send him out on loan if the right opportunity is available.
The left-footed right winger could be the Championship's next version of Kane for Burnley, Wolves, or Norwich, because he is a young player who has the potential to be an elite performer at the top level in the future.
Dowman, who does not turn 17 until December, has already made 15 first-team appearances for the Gunners and scored one goal in six Premier League matches in the 2025/26 campaign, as they won the title.

The 16-year-old wonderkid recently played the full 90 minutes against Ipswich, who were promoted from the Championship last season, and caught the eye with two goals in the League Cup clash.
Dowman, who is the youngest scorer in Premier League history at 16 years and 73 days, has already shown that he can deliver quality against top level opposition, having also scored against Everton in the top-flight last term.
The left-footed star's form at youth level suggests that there is even more to come from him in senior football, as he scored 20 goals and provided ten assists in 25 games for Arsenal at U18 level, and scored five goals in six matches for their U19 side.
Dowman looks primed to become one of the top young talents in the world, given what he has already achieved at such a young age, and a loan move to the Championship could be a key step in his development.

Whilst the move could massively benefit the Arsenal youngster and his development, his arrival at any of those three clubs could also bolster their promotion chances, given the potential that he has to make a huge impact in the final third from the right flank.
