Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade.

After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.

Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor.

Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. He has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content.

Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.

Leeds United battled hard to secure a 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur in North London in the Premier League on Monday night.

Despite already being safe, Daniel Farke ensured that his team were not sat on the beach and that they gave Spurs and Roberto De Zerbi a tough evening.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's penalty after a lengthy VAR check for a foul on Ethan Ampadu secured a point for the away side, with the centre-forward scoring for the 13th time this season in the league.

The England international has been a revelation since his move from Everton on a free transfer last summer, leading the line superbly throughout the campaign for the Whites.

Not every player in the squad has had a season as successful as Calvert-Lewin's, though, and Brenden Aaronson struggled once again against Spurs.

Brenden Aaronson proved why Leeds need to sign a number ten

The USA international has only produced two assists in his last ten appearances in the Premier League, and has not scored a goal in any of his last 19 matches in all competitions.

Aaronson did not register a single shot on goal in 63 minutes on the pitch against Spurs and failed with four of his five attempted dribbles in the number ten role.

The former RB Salzburg star has failed to offer consistent quality in the final third, as evidenced by his blunt display against the Lilywhites, and Leeds must dip into the market to sign a replacement on him when the summer transfer window opens.

Aaronson's failure to offer a goal threat, with zero shots against Spurs and no goals in his last 19 games, does not suggest that he should still be a regular starter next season.

The American attacking midfielder, however, is not the only player who should lose their place in the starting line-up after their performance against Spurs on Monday.

Worse than Aaronson: Leeds must drop £25m flop after Spurs

Jayden Bogle missed out with a hamstring injury for Leeds and Farke unleashed winger Dan James as a makeshift right wing-back against Tottenham.

Unfortunately, the Wales international showed why he has rarely been called upon in the Premier League this season, as he struggled throughout his time on the pitch and was even worse than Aaronson.

Both players were substituted at the same time, in the 63rd minute, after failing to produce much in the way of quality, but James was particularly underwhelming.

The American attacker, at least, created a 'big chance' and had over twice as much xA, whilst also winning six times as many duels and three times as many tackles.

Despite technically playing in a defensive position, James played 63 minutes and only won one of his seven physical duels on the night, as he struggled to deal with the physicality of the match.

His work in possession for Leeds was also far too sloppy on the night. James lost the ball six times from 18 touches, once every three touches on average, and did not register a shot on target or create a 'big chance' for the team.

On top of that, the Wales international, despite his immense pace, did not complete a single dribble for Leeds to get past his man and make something happen at the top end of the pitch.

It was only his fifth start and 17th appearance of the season in the Premier League, and his performance explained why Farke has been reluctant to start him.

The former Manchester United forward, who has zero goals and zero assists in 17 league games, does not look up to the task of playing in the Premier League for Leeds, which could raise doubts over his future heading into the summer.

In the short-term, Farke must drop James to the bench for the final two matches and use another player in his place, whether that is a natural defender like Sam Byram or a winger like Wilfried Gnonto.

In talks: Leeds submit offer to sign Elland Road's new Ethan Ampadu

Daniel Farke could stumble upon his new Ethan Ampadu if Leeds United clinch a free agent deal for this battling star.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Welshman when the summer transfer window opens for business, as a return to the Championship may be the best option for all parties involved based on the evidence of this season.
