Everton supporters will need to buckle in for the ride throughout today, as the 2026 summer edition of deadline day is set to be a busy one for David Moyes’ men.

Numerous departures are expected before the window closes at 11pm, with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye, Nathan Patterson and Tim Ireogbunam all close to the exit door.

However, such funds are set to be reinvested back into the senior ranks on Merseyside, which has seen one player edge closer to a big-money move to join the Toffees.

Throughout last season, many of the Everton supporters questioned the quality of the striking department, with Beto and Thierno Barry sharing the responsibility at the top end of the pitch.

The former is set to depart before tonight’s deadline, which has opened the door for AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun to complete his move to the Hill Dickinson.

It was widely reported late on Monday evening that the Toffees had agreed a £45m package with the Ligue 1 outfit for the American international striker.

The 25-year-old will arrive with huge expectations from the Everton faithful, and understandably so given the fee and his tally of 13 goals in France’s top-division last term.

Last season was only the second time in his professional career in which he ended a campaign with double figures in goals, but he’s undoubtedly an upgrade on the two options currently available for Moyes.

Balogun even took his goalscoring feats to the international stage, subsequently netting three goals for his nation during the World Cup this summer.

His nouse for goals will add a needed new dimension to the Toffees’ attack this window, which could finally see the manager land the attacking talent he’s been crying out for.

How Everton can secure an instant Jack Grealish upgrade

As part of Everton’s late recruitment drive this summer, the hierarchy have also agreed a deal which will see Manchester City winger Jack Grealish return for a second loan spell.

The Englishman spent last season on loan at the Hill Dickinson, but such a move was cut short after he suffered an ankle injury - subsequently missing every game after the 18th of January.

The 30-year-old will be looking to once again get his career back on track, but he may struggle for consistent starts if Moyes’ side also complete a deal for winger Jamie Leweling.

It’s been reported by journalist Florian Plettenberg that the Toffees have made a concrete offer to Stuttgart in an attempt to land the German international before tonight’s deadline.

He also claims that interest is high for the 25-year-old’s signature, as Italian side AS Roma are extremely keen to secure a deal before the summer window closes.

Any deal would likely be an expensive one for Moyes and Co, as the Bundesliga side are said to have placed a €50m (£42m) asking price above the forward’s head - as per other sources.

A move for the left-winger could see the Toffees complete their overhaul of the attack, with Leweling and Grealish being brought in to soften the blow of Ndiaye’s pending departure.

The German could well be utilised as a direct replacement for the Senegalese star, with the returning loanee having to settle for a role as backup.

The Stuttgart star’s stats from last season showcase his quality within attacking areas, which could make him a deadly threat for the Toffees in the final third.

Leweling ended the recent campaign with 16 combined goals and assists - a figure which was higher than that of the Englishman in the Premier League.

His dominance over the 30-year-old within the final third was further evident in his 37% shot-on-target accuracy rate - which saw him place more of his efforts between the posts last term.

Away from his shooting ability, Leweling also managed to create more big chances per 90 for his teammates, which often saw him run the opposition ragged in 2025/26.

It subsequently allowed the Stuttgart man to achieve a higher dribble success rate too - subsequently offering a superb all-round presence to any side who secure his services.

£42m for a player of his immediate quality and potential would be a superb deal for Everton and one which could allow the supporters to forget about Ndiaye.

A deal for Grealish will undoubtedly improve the depth in such an area, which could see fellow new arrival Balogun have the perfect chance of being a success on Merseyside.
