The Dodgers won their 100th game of the regular season Sunday against the Giants.

The last time the Dodgers won 100 games in the regular season was in 2023, when LA lost the National League Division Series to the Diamondbacks. Since 1975, the Dodgers have never won the World Series after winning 100 or more games in the regular season.

Dodgers postseason results after winning 100 games since 1975:

2017 – 104-58 – Lost World Series
2019 – 106-56 – Lost NLDS
2021 – 106-56 – Lost NLCS
2022 – 111-51 – Lost NLDS
2023 – 100-62 – Lost NLDS

The Dodgers have never won the World Series after winning at least 100 games.

Could the historic pattern repeat itself in 2026?

The Dodgers are on the quest to win a third consecutive World Series title after back-to-back wins in the Fall Classic in 2024 and 2025. LA won 98 games and 93 games, respectively, in the regular season the past two seasons.

It’s safe to say history isn’t on the Dodgers’ side, but the team has proven it can beat the odds even in the most unlikely of situations. Let’s not forget about the thrilling World Series Game 7 against the Blue Jays, where it seemed like the Dodgers were out for the count, until they weren’t.

The 2025 campaign also proved the Dodgers’ regular season is merely a pretext to what really matters for LA, the postseason. For much of the regular season last year, the Dodgers struggled even down the stretch.

LA failed to secure a first-round bye in the playoffs and the team didn’t have home field advantage for any series in October. And yet, the Dodgers won the 2025 World Series.

Thus, there’s hope that while history says the Dodgers won’t hoist the Commissioner’s Trophy after winning 100 regular season games, the back-to-back World Series champions can still beat the odds.
