Barcelona has added another new face to its roster, announcing the arrival of former NBA guard Stanley Umude on a contract that runs through the 2027-28 campaign.

The move follows reports from BasketNews’ Donatas Urbonas earlier this month that the Spanish powerhouse was targeting the Nigerian-American as a backcourt addition.

Umude heads to the EuroLeague after spending four seasons in the NBA. Despite going undrafted in 2022, he earned opportunities with the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs, making 49 regular-season appearances.

His NBA role was mostly limited, as he averaged 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds in eight minutes per outing.

His most productive stretch came in Detroit during the 2023-24 season, when he contributed 5.3 points and 2.1 rebounds while receiving regular rotation minutes.

Most of last season was spent in the G League with the Austin Spurs after making just two NBA appearances for San Antonio.

There, Umude showcased his offensive ability by averaging 17.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 42 games while shooting 41 percent from the floor.

He consistently produced throughout his time in the G League, posting career averages of 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists over four seasons.
