The Cleveland Cavaliers are continuing to reshape their roster after acquiring Peyton Watson in a sign-and-trade deal.

Cleveland created additional financial flexibility by waiving and stretching Cam Whitmore’s contract.

The move gives the Cavaliers enough room below the first-apron hard cap to bring back James Harden.

The Cavs still need to add another player, however, as they must reach the NBA’s 14-player roster minimum.

Cleveland is reportedly expected to sign a rookie whose draft rights it controls to a minimum contract worth approximately $1.4 million for the 2026-27 season.

Khalifa Diop, Ismael Kamagate and Saliou Niang are among the possibilities, with Diop potentially the leading candidate.

Kamagate’s draft rights were only recently acquired by Cleveland, while Niang is committed to LSU for the upcoming season, making Diop the most straightforward option to fill the final required roster spot.
