Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayIn the wake of adding Peyton Watson through sign-and-trade, the Cleveland Cavaliers are piecing together the rest of their offseason. Cleveland waived-and-stretched Cam Whitmore. That move will take the Cavaliers far enough before their first-apron hard cap to re-sign James Harden.
However, the Cavs still need to fill their 14th roster spot. Cleveland will reportedly sign a draft rights rookie to a true minimum to aid in reaching the mandatory roster minimum. A rookie minimum would come in at $1.4 million for the 2026-27 season.
The Cavaliers have Khalifa Diop, Ismael Kamagate and Saliou Niang as options for this type of signing. Diop could be the frontrunner. Cleveland just acquired the draft rights Kamagate, and Niang is committed to playing for LSU this upcoming season.
