YouTubeThe Philadelphia 76ers have begun making roster moves to create space for the arrivals of LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, waiving guard Dalen Terry.
Philadelphia needed to complete two transactions to finalize the additions of James and Caldwell-Pope, and releasing Terry marks the first of those moves.
Because Terry’s contract was non-guaranteed, the decision also gives the 76ers additional flexibility under the NBA’s first-apron hard cap.
Terry initially joined Philadelphia on a two-way contract in mid-February before earning a two-year standard contract in mid-April, shortly before the regular season concluded.
The 24-year-old opened last season with the Chicago Bulls before being dealt to the New Orleans Pelicans.
He was then traded again to the New York Knicks ahead of the NBA trade deadline before eventually landing with the 76ers.
