Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDave Allen returns to action tonight in front of another major crowd, taking on Irish heavyweight Thomas Carty at Croke Park in Dublin.
The 34-year-old has rebuilt on a low level after his blowout defeat to Filip Hrgovic, picking up two four-round wins before accepting a ten-round clash with Carty as the chief support to Katie Taylor’s farewell fight. Allen brings far greater professional experience into the contest, but will be facing a younger southpaw with a sizeable home crowd behind him.
Carty enters with an 11-1 record and nine knockouts, with his only professional defeat – due to an ACL injury during the fight – coming before his latest points win over German Skobenko in March. The Dublin heavyweight now gets the chance to claim the biggest victory of his career on one of the most significant nights in Irish boxing history.
The bout forms part of Katie Taylor’s historic Croke Park homecoming and final professional appearance, with more than 80,000 fans expected inside the stadium. It is the first professional boxing event staged at the venue since Muhammad Ali fought Alvin Lewis there in 1972.
Allen-Carty is scheduled for ten rounds and will be shown live worldwide on DAZN, with the event promoted by Matchroom Boxing. Stay with Boxing News for a live scorecard and final fight result.

Dave Allen vs Thomas Carty fight result
The fight hasn’t made it a round. 90 seconds in and Thomas Carty, who was off to a good start, has flown through the ropes and is now being treated with oxygen. Allen caught Carty on the back of the head in the clinch as the Irishman turned. He shot out of the ring headfirst and took a nasty tumble. Result to follow.
No contest. A sour note as the chief support of such a monumental card. There will likely be a rematch, assuming Carty has suffered no serious damage by falling from a height. There’s no doubt Allen’s punch landed on the back of the head, but looked unintentional. Carty was perhaps dazed or misjudged where he was in the ring as he was going down. Not the way either man would have wanted the fight to end, and there will be a fallout with plenty of debate to come.
