Devin Haney answered Shakur Stevenson’s latest weight jabs by posting a video of himself on the scales at roughly 156 pounds. Haney insisted the agreed 144-pound catchweight will not be an issue if their long-discussed fight is finalized.
To all the weight police 🖕🏽.. I live a clean lifestyle & have the best nutritionist James Lockwood in the game! Never missed weight I’m a true professional pic.twitter.com/7MAAAf99ja

Shakur had joked earlier that Haney spent “a month straight” in the bathtub trying to prepare for the weight, although he also indicated the issue wasn’t preventing the fight from moving forward.
The video appears designed to reinforce that point. At around 156 pounds more than a month before a proposed 144-pound bout, Haney is arguing the weight cut will be routine rather than the major obstacle critics have suggested.
Weight has become one of the biggest talking points surrounding the matchup. Shakur initially pushed for a 144-pound limit after moving up to light welterweight, while Haney quickly accepted those terms. Since then, much of the public discussion has shifted to whether Haney is too big to comfortably reach the catchweight.
Haney’s latest posts make it clear he wants that discussion put to rest. By stepping on the scale and defending his nutrition program, he’s trying to convince fans that making 144 won’t be the story if he and Shakur finally meet in the ring.
