Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe Cleveland Cavaliers and guard Donovan Mitchell have agreed to a four-year, $273 million veteran extension. Mitchell's new deal will run through the 2030-31 season. The final season of the deal includes a player option for Mitchell.
The Cavs got Mitchell to extend a year earlier than he could have. The superstar guard could have opted out for the 2027-28 season and signed a five-year contract with Cleveland, but chose to lock up a new deal now.
Mitchell has reportedly been working with Cavaliers GM Koby Altman this summer by giving input on roster moves. This is now Mitchell's second extension that he's signed with Cleveland since the team acquired him in 2022.
