The Charlotte Hornets officially completed their transaction to acquire Dorian Finney-Smith. The Hornets acquired Finney-Smith and three second-round picks from the Houston Rockets. Charlotte used the bulk of their Non-Taxpayer MLE to bring Finney-Smith in via trade.

Despite them using a valuable exception to acquire Finney-Smith, the veteran forward is unlikely to play for the Hornets. Charlotte gave up the Non-Taxpayer MLE to acquire the three second-round picks. Those picks now add to a massive stash of draft capital that Hornets GM Jeff Peterson is building.
