A former UFC strawweight champion is taking on odd jobs to earn extra income while away from competition.

Winning a UFC title is often seen as a ticket to lifelong financial security, but that hasn’t been the reality for Jessica Andrade, who has fought 30 times in the promotion.

Andrade has been sidelined since dropping a unanimous decision to Loopy Godinez at UFC 319 in August 2025, as she continues to recover from a shoulder injury. During her time away from competition, “Bate Estaca” revealed she has been working various side jobs to bring in extra income.

Jessica Andrade Takes Food Delivery Job During UFC Hiatus

During a recent appearance on Direto de Vegas, Jessica Andrade shed light on the financial realities of life outside the Octagon as she continues to recover from a shoulder injury. The former UFC strawweight titleholder revealed that she has been delivering food as one of several ways to earn extra income.

Thank God I managed to save some money, so things are going well,” Andrade said. “But whenever I need to, I work as a delivery driver. I deliver meals and things like that. I just pick up orders through an app and make the deliveries. I do whatever it takes. I’m not afraid of hard work; I can do just about anything.”

“Recently I started a project at [a friend’s] house, installing artificial turf,” Andrade said. “Her backyard was nothing but rocks. I went there and removed all the rocks from the ground. I thought, ‘I’ll give this a try. If I’m good at it, it’s one more way we can make some extra money whenever we need it.’”

Andrade, who famously knocked out Rose Namajunas to capture the 115-pound title at UFC 237 in May 2019, has previously spoken about her financial struggles. The Brazilian once revealed that she sold her own UFC memorabilia to make ends meet and later launched a successful OnlyFans account as another source of income. However, the 34-year-old left the subscription platform in 2023, explaining that it resurfaced painful memories from her childhood trauma.

“Bate Estaca” is enduring one of the toughest stretches of her career, having gone 2-6 across her last eight Octagon appearances, including her current three-fight losing streak. Overall, Andrade owns a professional record of 26-15, with a 17-13 mark in the UFC.
