Well, what a topsy-turvy season that was, eh? Three managers but two trophies doesn't quite tell the story of how Celtic's season played out.
While they did reign surpreme on the domestic stage once again, it was not without it's troubles. Who'd have thought Brendan Rodgers' exit would lead to such chaos? In came Martin O'Neill for a temporary go at things before he left again, only to return. Sandwiched between those two spells was the ill-fated Wilfried Nancy era.
Thankfully, the Hoops are far beyond that now. O'Neill has added two more trophies to his collection but whether or not he'll still be at Parkhead next season is unknown. Initally, it looked as though he was going to depart. The romantic, however, says he should stay for another season.
Whatever happens, Dermot Desmond and Co need a quick resolution so they can attack the transfer window. Celtic may well have won the league but the truth is, this squad needs to be gutted.
One of the first orders of business will be resolving Daizen Maeda's future in Glasgow.
Celtic could sign big-money Maeda replacement
What does the future hold for Maeda? For large parts of the season, the Japan international was made out to be something of a scapegoat. It's certainly no secret that it's likely he'll leave.
Speaking before the cup final last weekend, O'Neill stated: "Daizen has said that if he could get a chance to play in the Premier League, he would want to. I certainly wouldn’t stop him. There will be a queue of clubs down there wanting him now after this recent spell. If I was around, I wouldn’t stop Daizen from going."
So, how do you go about replacing someone with 50 goals in his last two seasons for the Hoops? Well, it certainly won't be easy.
Fortunately for supporters, the recruitment team at Paradise do have one exciting player in mind already. They go by the name of Kasper Hogh.
Celtic’s most expensive signings of all time
The Hoops have made some sensible signings over the years.
According to the Herald, Celtic have 'resurrected' their interest from January in the Danish centre-forward who currently plays for Bodo/Glimt in Norway.
Also on their radar is said to be Go Ahead Eagles playmaker Jakob Breum. Neither player would come too cheap. Breum has been rated at £4m while, according to previous reports, Hogh could set back any suitor as much as £10m.
Why Hogh could be even better than Maeda for Celtic
Maeda may well have struggled at parts this season but the way in which he ended the campaign was remarkable.
As O'Neill put it last week, it was a "Henrik Larsson-esque" run of form from the Japanese. As Celtic won the Premiership, Maeda scored seven goals in his last five league matches, including that stunning overhead kick against Rangers.
Further netting in the Scottish Cup final last week, it was quite the run of form for a player who will no doubt be difficult to replace.
In Hogh, however, they'd find just the man, a player capable of living up to Maeda and his mate, Kyogo Furuhashi in the process.
While he will not come cheap, that's understandable for a player who has made an almighty impact for Bodo across the last 18 months or so. In 2024/25, the 25-year-old scored 27 times in 49 games.

Yet, while 2025/26 has not been quite as productive just yet, scoring 13 in 27, he was electric in the UEFA Champions League, more than proving he can do it at the top level.
Hogh netted twice against Manchester City in a famous 3-1 win for the team from the Arctic Circle, while also scoring against Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. It's hardly a surprise to hear Bodo/Glimt's director, Frode Thomassen, hail the attacker as a "special" talent.
It's safe to say the Denmark international's record at the highest level is already better than Maeda's. He was electric in Scotland but only ever scored four goals in the Champions League from 19 outings. Hogh has six in 14 for context.
If a player can do it against some of Europe's top teams then he can certainly do it in the SPFL. His pedigree is improving all the time and it really would be quite the coup should Celtic be able to bring him in this summer.
They will no doubt face competition, specifically from England where Norwich were interested last January. That said, his stock is increasing and there will be other sides fighting over his signature.
Celtic must ensure they are at the front of the queue, however, particularly if Maeda is departing. Hogh would be a phenomenal replacement.
Celtic could see a £9m bid accepted to sign a better player than Engels
Celtic are reportedly interested in a deal to sign a star who could be even better than Arne Engels.
