Jason Kidd is in advanced talks to join ESPN as a studio analyst.

The Dallas Mavericks fired Kidd as head coach this offseason following the hiring of Masai Ujiri as president of basketball operations. The Mavericks subsequently hired Dusty May as head coach.

After Kidd was fired by the Milwaukee Bucks, he became an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers before being hired by the Mavericks.

ESPN has a vacancy in their studio coverage following the departure of Michael Malone to the University of North Carolina.
