he final round of the KNMV MX Nationals in Valkenswaard has added another big name to its entry list. Former world-class rider Kevin Strijbos will line up in the MX500 class this coming weekend at the Eurocircuit. The Belgian brought his professional racing career to an end several years ago but remains closely involved in the motocross world.
Strijbos spent many years among the elite of the MXGP World Championship, securing multiple Grand Prix victories and podium finishes throughout his impressive career.
Although he has since stepped away from professional competition, the Belgian can still regularly be found on a motocross bike.
Today, Strijbos works as a test rider and riding coach for the Red Bull Ducati Factory MXGP Team. In this role, he plays an important part in the development of Ducati’s motocross bikes and the coaching of the riders within the factory team.
This coming weekend, Strijbos will briefly swap his behind-the-scenes duties for the race track. He will compete against the regular contenders in the MX500 class at the KNMV MX Nationals finale in Valkenswaard.
With Glenn Coldenhoff’s previously announced participation, the premier class will boast even more international star power. An exciting title battle is also on the cards in the MX500 class, with the presence of these experienced top riders adding another dimension to the season finale.
With Kevin Strijbos behind the starting gate, motocross fans in Valkenswaard will once again have the opportunity to watch a former world-class rider in action on the race track.
