Ticket prices for the New York Knicks’ home opener have increased dramatically following the franchise’s championship season.

According to TicketIQ, the cheapest secondary-market ticket for New York’s Oct. 20 matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden currently costs $1,346 including fees.

That represents a 526% increase compared with last season’s home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, when the final get-in price was $215.

“The championship has completely reset the Knicks ticket market,” said Jesse Lawrence, CEO of TicketIQ.

Demand for opening night has pushed prices above every Knicks home playoff game from last season except Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals.

Ticket prices are also expected to be considerably higher throughout the season.

TicketIQ reports that the average get-in price for games at Madison Square Garden has increased from $234 last season to $344 for 2026-27, a jump of approximately 47%.

Two major events are contributing to the unusually high demand for the opener.

The Knicks will celebrate their championship by raising a banner at Madison Square Garden for the first time since their 1973 title.

The matchup will also feature LeBron James making his debut with the 76ers after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers and signing with Philadelphia during the offseason.

Prices remain subject to change as opening night approaches.

The cheapest available ticket has already fallen 5% over the past four days, declining from $1,417 to $1,346.
