The Los Angeles Lakers remain well below the NBA’s first tax apron after adding Kevon Looney, Ziaire Williams and reportedly Matisse Thybulle on veteran minimum contracts, according to salary cap expert Yossi Gozlan.

Gozlan reports that the Lakers are approximately $8.1 million under the first apron, giving the front office continued financial flexibility heading into the season.

With Thybulle included, Los Angeles now has 16 players on guaranteed contracts, one above the regular-season roster limit of 15.

Because the team still has room below the hard cap, Gozlan notes the Lakers remain in position to complete a two-for-one trade or execute a sign-and-trade that brings back additional salary if the right opportunity arises.
