Michael Page’s contract with UFC has come due, and while there is the possibility of a renewal, “MVP” admits he hasn’t exactly had thrilling fights as of late.

Page scored his fourth straight victory this past Saturday, defeating Nursulton Ruziboev via unanimous decision. While the 39-year-old has been on a streak, fight fans have grown restless of his point fighting. The lackluster bouts haven’t been lost on Page, who told UFC News that he understands he isn’t giving the top MMA promotion and its fans what they want (via MMAJunkie).

“I sit down with the UFC, have a honest conversation,” Page said. “I’m going to say, ‘Look man, I know I could do better. I’m aspiring to do better. I’m up there. Give me better opponents, and have faith that I can go deliver something special for the crowd.'”

Page hopes that he can stick around on the UFC roster, but he wants to be matched up against other top strikers to maximize his potential to pull off the highlight reel finishes he had in Bellator.

“The frustrating thing is I feel great, which sometimes means I haven’t done enough – and the result shows I haven’t done enough,” Page said. “I probably need to push myself a little bit more, take a few more risks. Sometimes I just want it to be too clean, too precise. I know there’s more and it’s frustrating because when I get to the cage, sometimes I feel like I’m holding back, and I want to give more. The fans deserve more, the UFC deserves more, I know I can give more, and I feel like I’m almost there.”

Page is the No. 8-ranked middleweight on the Meta UFC rankings panel. He is seven spots lower on the media rankings panel at 15. Page hasn’t suffered a loss since 2024 when he dropped a unanimous decision to Ian Machado Garry in a competitive fight.
