The Indiana Pacers’ battle for the remaining two-way contract appears to be taking shape after the team waived Taelon Peter on Monday.
According to Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star, Ethan Thompson and Kobe Brown currently occupy two-way roster spots.
The Pacers have also extended a qualifying offer to Jalen Slawson and are expected to sign No. 38 overall draft pick Braden Smith to a two-way deal.
With Brown recently re-signed and Smith expected to join the roster, Dopirak believes the final opening will likely come down to Thompson and Slawson.
The move to release Peter has helped clarify the competition as Indiana continues finalizing its roster ahead of the new season.
