Peter Barrett expects to make a statement at BKFC 92 at Fenway Park.

Barrett has been on a roll in BKFC; since his UFC exit, he has fought on the regional scene but has found a new look in bare-knuckle boxing. ‘Slippery Pete’ wasn’t sure what would be next after his UFC exit but had some interest in BKFC and was glad they wanted to sign him.

“BKFC was always a bucket list item. I wanted to try it before I hung it up. It really lit a fire under me to keep going. We did the Gamebred in bare-knuckle MMA, and I wanted to see what bare-knuckle boxing is about. This fighting style is catered to me and my aggressiveness. I love it,” Barrett said on Just Scrap Radio on BJPENN.com.

In BKFC, Barrett is 2-0, and after his last fight, he heard whispers of the promotion having an event at Fenway Park. Barrett, who is from Massachusetts, made it clear he wasn’t going to fight in BKFC again if he didn’t get on the Fenway card.

“I told my manager if Fenway is happening and they try to put me on another card, I will pack my bags and leave the company and go somewhere else to fight. If Fenway is happening, I have to be there. The entire attitude of all fight camps is that this is mind-bogglingly insane. Everybody is excited about Fenway,” Barrett added.

When Barrett makes the walk at Fenway Park at BKFC 92, he will take on Elijah Harris, who is someone he’s familiar with. His friend Rico DiSciullo fought him last time out.

Although Peter Barrett knows anything can happen in a bare-knuckle fight, he believes Elijah Harris won’t be able to hang with him.

Instead, Barrett believes his aggressive style will be tough for Harris to deal with and end up with a big KO win.

“I’m not afraid to fight hard and put my foot on the gas and be in his face until he drops. I expect highly calculated violence,” Barrett said. “It doesn’t matter what I need to do; I will make those decisions in there, close the gap between us, and put him down. His two wins in BKFC are right off the bell, and he caught the dudes not paying attention. He comes out hard and fast and he has a fragile chin. He gets dropped a bunch. I’m doing my homework, and I don’t think he will pose an issue. Get through the first bit, and the kid is toast.”

If Barrett does get the KO win at Fenway Park, the goal is to re-sign with BKFC and get a title shot in the next fight or two.

“It’s one fight at a time, I want to handle what is in front of me. Rico is a friend of mine; he is one fight ahead of me. When he starts barking for a title fight, I can start barking for one. I have one fight on my initial contract and when we renegotiate, I want stipulations in the contract that if I win two fights or something, I get a title shot. The coolest thing to be, get the belt, defend the belt, and keep defending the belt and retire a world champion,” Barrett concluded.
