Roma SPQR is strengthening its organization ahead of its debut season in the EuroCup and Italy’s LBA, reportedly adding two prominent figures with extensive NBA experience.

According to La Prealpina, Roma has reached an agreement with former NBA executive Bryan Colangelo, while Mike D’Antoni is expected to join the club’s Board of Directors.

Colangelo will reportedly advise the ownership group and represent Roma at official meetings.

The 61-year-old previously held major front-office positions with the Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers. He also owns a minority stake in Italian football club Cagliari.

D’Antoni brings strong connections to both Italian and NBA basketball. The recently inducted Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer spent much of his playing career with Olimpia Milano before becoming a successful NBA coach.

The additions further underline Roma’s ambitions. Sergio Scariolo has already joined as Special Advisor for Basketball Strategy, while Alessandro Magro will serve as head coach.

Roma has also strengthened its roster with Nico Mannion, who joined the club after conversations with Luka Doncic helped influence his decision.

With Colangelo and D’Antoni now reportedly entering the organization, Roma continues to build an experienced leadership structure for its upcoming domestic and European campaigns.
