I'm thinking of buying one of these from tennisman, and I have a few queries;
- There doesn't seem to be any stock of AEF about, nor on aliexpress, are there new models due soon replacing the current lineup?
- Which clamp do I choose with the machine, the universal or the badminton.
- I was going to go for the T20, but current stock dictates T10, T50, or T60 - so it looks like I'm leaning towards the T10. Is there any point to consider other higher end models, as this is my first stringing machine, for hobbyist use and for friends.
Thanks

The Superstringers are exclusively made by AEF for Tennisman that's why you don't find them anywhere else. Afaik, Tennisman receives two big shipments per year. So I would write an e-mail to Dirk and ask him when the T20s will be back on stock. I have to say that the semi-automatic bases of the T20 are sensational, I wouldn't want to miss them.
If you are not afraid to drill some holes in the baseplate to move the main towers, then you can consider the T50 (see parallel thread by Super85). If you are not so much into modding, then you will have to go with the T10 because of the moveable towers.

Both types of clamps are usable for badminton and both are very similar. The universal ones have 5 teeth, the badminton ones only 4 and are thus a bit slimmer. I chose the 4 teeth ones and I'm perfectly happy with them. I used then fit a 25 kg tennis string job and they held that with ease.

Alternatives you should consider are the Gamma X6-FC Pro or the Premiumstringer 3600 or 3800 which are all in the same price range.

Thanks for the info, I'll drop him an email to query about additional stock.

Oh, maybe another SuperStringer to the family here?! :)

I think T10 should do the job well for you if you want a machine right now, but personally I would with easy spend the extra 30€ up to T20 and the lovely semi-automatic bases (depending on how quickly the stok is filled).

I regret that I didn't choose those 4 teeth clamps, the 5 teeth are awesome as well but I would like it a little bit more flexible when stringing the crosses.

You can also check http://tennisraquette.fr/468-super-stringer if they still have T20 in stock.

does that mean anybody outside EU is out of luck if trying to get one of these machines?

Sad but true. If you count in shipping, customs etc., they end up far less attractive I'm afraid.

But maybe AEF produces comparable machines for another distributor in the NAFTA region? I think they OEM for quite a lot of other brands.

ETA for new stock is approx 2 weeks. So i'll wait for them to appear in stock before pulling the trigger.

Nice! :) T20 than?

That's good news! Have you asked him if the T50 will come with moveable towers with that shipment? If that is a yes, then I would highly recommend the T50, if not then go with the T20 and be a happy stringer!

I didnt ask, but T50 is a little over budget and a bit of a luxury for a first machine... I'm not as loaded with £££ as I used to be ☺

In that case don't bother at all, buy the T20 and enjoy. It has everything that you will need - I'm still fully happy with it myself.
Oh, and order the badminton clamps!

I´ve got the S70 Badminton with a WISE for about 15 Month now, stringing about 170 rackets. I´m very happy with the combination, would suggest a T50/60 next time. Stringing badminton rackets only, the S70 has no bigger disadvantages for standard heads, but I had some rackets with Y-head or with a longer head, which made some problems because of the small size of the machine.
The machine is very solid, just had smaller issues with the screws of the side supports, which distorted a little bit, so that they did not put any pressure against the side supports. But the support from tennistown was great and after 1 week I had 2 towers with 4 new screws, of course without any charge.
In addition to the smaller size, the fact, that die S70 has 4 screws for the side supports, is a disadvantage in comparison with the bigger T models. But as far as I know its the same with T10 and T20.
The clamps are great, can´t tell anything about the drop weight.

I you are just stringing Badminton, you could consider the S70, but I think all Superstringer machines are worth it´s money

It arrived. No one mentioned how BIG the box was or how HEAVY the machine is. That was a shock.
Did my first racket, Victor MX800 76 hole @ 26lbs, and it took me 3 hours. Did a Yonex and this took 2 hours. I need more practice!
I wish the KG markings had some finer measurements, the scale of 1kg isn't very useful for badminton...
Is there a skill to getting the drop weight to align horizontally at the first attempt? At the moment it takes a few tries and adjusting the drop-weight gripper in between until it aligns horizontally.

It is satisfying getting a racket to one's own tension and done properly (seems the commercial stringer had never done a 76 hole racket before and now it's like a totally different racket!)

As in another post, they are OEM for Spinfire range of products. The top end hybrid clamp T50 is the same as Spinfire V50. Five teeth hybrid clamp.

Congrats to your new machine and welcome to the stringers' club! :D

So I guess you went for the T20 in the end?
3 hours for the first racket seems to be kind of a standard. Saving a full hour with racket #2 is great, so it seems you have prepared yourself quite well!

To have 0.5 kg steps on the scale would be nice. But I haven't seen any other machine that provides this - so you could think about adding the 0.5 kg markings by hand. On the other hand it doesn't really matter if you vary the position of the weight by <3 mm between stringjobs.

There is only one way to improve getting the bar at an horizontal position at the firt attempt: Practise!
Over time you develop a certain feel how much you need to pull the string by hand before putting it in the gripper at certain tensions.
And most important, don't worry too much if the bar is <10° out of horizontal. Even with a deviation of 10°, the difference in tension should be only about 1.5% - strictly theoretical without counting in the friction between the strings and the grommets.

PS3600 and a bunch more have it. I hardly know a DW which don't have...

Yes, I got the T20 in the end, as it came back in stock about a week after posting the enquiry above.
I lose a lot of time with shared holes and the crosses, so at my next attempt, I might try pre-weaving as much as possible to hopefully cut down the time to about an hour - or less.
I figured having a small ruler handy makes up for the lack of scale, as it's exactly 30mm between each KG, so calculating the distance isn't too bad, but the scale should have been there in the first place...

Hi all, looking to purchase my first stringing machine and would appreciate any advice:

The options are:
1. Penta Premium 3600

2. Superstringer S70
https://www.tennisman.de/en/Other/S...machine-SUPERSTRINGER-S70-Badminton-oxid.html

3. Superstringer T10
https://www.tennisman.de/en/Other/S...tringingmachine-SUPERSTRINGER-T10-oxid-1.html

What are the differences between the S70 and T10? - there is a 20 Euro difference?
How do they compare to the PP3600? PP3600 doesn't come with any tools.

(budget can't stretch to the T20 with automatic clamps I'm afraid)

Appreciate any input you may all have!

S70 is badminton only with fixed main towers, T10 has moveable towers so you can use it for tennis and badminton rackets. As I've done several times, I'm going to recommend once more to save a bit longer and get the T20. The bases are more than worth the extra money. And you only need to string like 5 rackets for club mates to have the extra costs covered.

The PS3600 is a solid machine too. The only disadvantage to the Superstringer machines are the clamps and bases. Build quality of the machine itself is comparable.

Even then, you can just replace the clamps/bases like I did recently.
