From 9th–12th October 2025, the stunning island of Hvar, Croatia will once again welcome runners from around the world for the Spartan World Championship Weekend, where intense races, unforgettable moments, and a vibrant festival atmosphere await.

Last year’s debut event was nothing short of unforgettable, and 2025 is shaping up to be even more epic. The weekend will host the Spartan 100M World Championship and the Spartan Sprint 5K World Championship, alongside a whole series of races designed to push you, challenge you, and celebrate what your body is capable of.

For many, the Spartan World Championships aren’t just a competition; they’re the ultimate fitness holiday, and Hvar is the perfect backdrop for a fitness escape. And here’s the best bit: you don’t need to be an elite athlete to get involved. Alongside the world titles, there are age group and open heat races, so whether you’re new to OCR or a seasoned Spartan, you’ll get the chance to test yourself on the same world-class course.

Plus, if you’re in the mood for something even bigger, there’s the Beast 21K and Super 10K to choose from – or go all in and complete them all to earn the legendary Trifecta.

Here’s what’s happening over the weekend:

• Saturday 11th October – The Spartan 100M World Championship: A fast, knockout-style sprint right in the heart of Hvar’s lively city square. Expect speed, grit, and plenty of crowd support.
• Sunday 12th October – The Spartan Sprint 5K World Championship: With 20 obstacles squeezed into one epic course, you’ll be clambering over fortress walls, tackling coastal trails, and feeling the buzz of racing in one of the most scenic spots in Europe.
