The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed guard Antonio Reeves to a training camp deal, according to HoopsHype.

Reeves gives Minnesota another perimeter scoring option as the team prepares for the 2026-27 season after making significant changes to its roster during the offseason. The Timberwolves acquired LaMelo Ball and re-signed Ayo Dosunmu before adding Jonathan Kuminga, while also bringing back several players on smaller contracts.

Reeves has built his professional career around his shooting ability and scoring production. He spent his first three college seasons at Illinois State before transferring to Kentucky, where he became one of the Wildcats’ primary offensive weapons.

During his final college season in 2023-24, Reeves averaged 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 35 games. He shot 51.6% from the field, 44.7% from three-point range and 88.0% from the free-throw line.

That followed a 2022-23 season in which Reeves averaged 14.4 points while shooting 39.8% from three. His best season at Illinois State came in 2021-22, when he posted 20.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 39.0% from beyond the arc.

Reeves entered the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2024-25, appearing in 44 games and averaging 6.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 15 minutes per game. He shot 45.6% from the field and 39.5% from three.

His scoring numbers were considerably higher in the G League that season. Reeves averaged 24.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 11 games with the Birmingham Squadron while shooting 42.0% from three.

Reeves spent the 2025-26 season with the Greensboro Swarm, averaging 17.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 35 games. He shot 46.2% overall and 38.7% from three. He also appeared in 10 NBA games for the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 2.7 points in 6.9 minutes while shooting 53.8% from three-point range.

The Timberwolves already have Anthony Edwards, Ball, Dosunmu, Donte DiVincenzo and Bones Hyland among their established backcourt options, although DiVincenzo is recovering from an Achilles injury. Jaylen Clark, Isaiah Evans and other young players will also compete for opportunities.
