Tyron Woodley wants to extend proverbial olive branches to several of his former opponents, but the man who claimed his 170-pound crown took things in a personal direction to the point where that cannot happen.

Kamaru Usman is the combatant being referenced here, and ‘The Chosen One’ was delving into this on Bowks Talking Bouts ahead of a pair of RAF contests Woodley booked with Joaquin Buckley as well as Khamzat Chimaev. Referencing how it’s nice to see camaraderie between former opponents, with a localized reference to Tyron Woodley posting a picture with ex-octagon dance partner ‘Stun Gun’ Dong Hyun Kim, Woodley said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“Yeah, I’m gonna do more of that. I’m gonna make more of a content of that. It’s something that I did with ‘Stun Gun’ first, but I was already thinking of doing it. So when he asked me, it was a no-brainer. So me and ‘Stun Gun’ both want to do something where we get Carlos Condit out to Korea. We talk about our fights, in preparation, what we thought about each other. I want to do the same thing with ‘Wonder Boy.’ I talked about doing it in London with him, but our filming schedule was so crazy.”

“He was on first team and I was on second team. We filmed long, long hours together, but we didn’t have a lot of time to like break away and do that type of thing. But I would love to do it with him. I would love at some point to talk to Robbie [Lawler] again.”

Getting into the drastically different perceptions he has of the man he claimed the UFC’s welterweight crown from, as compared to the man who went on to unwrest it from him, Woodley continued [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“I haven’t spoken to Robbie [Lawler] since we fought. I keep saying it, but I haven’t done it. But I’m gonna reach out to him today, and I’m gonna reach out to him. I mean, I was a big fan of Robbie. I love Robbie. My family love Robbie. I had to go and fight him, man. I didn’t have a choice. When it’s a title on the line, you got to do what you got to do. I hope he’s doing great. I would love to do something like that with him. You know what I mean?”

“People that I just really respected. Even [Kamaru] Usman. Usman, it would be me doing what Robbie would need to do for that to happen. Like, you know what I mean? I don’t speak much to Usman and I feel like; I don’t know, maybe not Usman but [laughter]. Yeah, he did some goofy things outside of the fighting thing that I don’t really mess with.”
