Scotto reported Thursday that Terry, the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, will join Golden State after spending four NBA seasons with the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers.

— Michael Scotto (@MikeAScotto) August 28, 2026Terry became available after Philadelphia waived him on July 26 to create roster space for the signings of LeBron James and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The Warriors are adding another perimeter player to a roster that went 37-45 last season and exited the play-in tournament for the third consecutive year.
The 24-year-old has appeared in 218 regular-season games since entering the league, averaging 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 11.2 minutes per game. He has made 44.3% of his field-goal attempts and 31.4% of his 3-pointers over his four-year career.
Terry split the 2025-26 season between Chicago and Philadelphia, appearing in 48 games and averaging 3.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. His most productive NBA season came in 2024-25, when he played 73 games for the Bulls and posted 4.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 13.5 minutes per game.
His three-point shooting improved during his final season in Chicago, where he made 41.3% of his 1.4 attempts per game across 34 appearances. That number dropped to 25.0% in 14 games with Philadelphia, leaving him at 36.4% from three for the full season.
The signing gives Golden State additional depth on the wing after an offseason largely focused on retaining its veteran core. The Warriors re-signed Draymond Green, Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton and Gary Payton II, while also bringing back Charles Bassey and adding Georges Niang and Brandon Williams.
Golden State also retained Kristaps Porzingis after acquiring him at the February trade deadline in the deal that sent Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to Atlanta.
The Warriors’ projected core remains built around Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green and Porzingis. Curry averaged 26.6 points in 43 games last season, while Butler posted 20.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 38 appearances.
