Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade. 

After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.

Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor. 

Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. An expert of the Football League, specifically the Championship, he has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content. 

Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.

The Hoops have brought the Denmark international to Glasgow in a deal that could eventually be a club-record fee of more than £11m for the number nine.

He will not have played any pre-season matches for the club ahead of Monday's Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee, but he had been playing Eliteserien games in recent weeks.

It could be between him and Camilo Duran, who has been signed from Qarabag for £6m, to lead the line in the league opener on Monday, and it should be the Dane who gets the nod.

The 25-year-old marksman may be the most prepared player in the squad to hit the ground running against Dundee because he has been playing competitive football recently, whilst the rest of the team have been going through pre-season.

Hogh played two Eliteserien matches for Bodo/Glimt in July and could come in to hit the ground running as a player who is already up to speed for the intensity and physicality of competitive action.

The Danish striker played 12 times in the 2026 Eliteserien campaign for his former club before making the move to Parkhead, and racked up 11 goal contributions in those matches.

His impressive form in recent months came off the back of a return of 17 goals in the league in the 2025 campaign, alongside five goals in the Champions League last season.

Hogh's sublime form for Bodo/Glimt and his recent experience of competitive football is why Martin O'Neill should select him from the start for the opener against Dundee, as he may be in the best place out of everyone to make an instant impact.

Why Celtic's next signing could be ideal for Hogh

The £11m centre-forward still needs support from his teammates to score goals, though, and the club are looking at a move for a star who could help him to explode at Parkhead.

O'Neill has confirmed that Celtic are interested in a deal to sign Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Hoops manager has revealed that the club are "making really good progress" in their efforts to bring the Algeria international over to Scotland for the new season.

This comes after The Herald recently reported that the forward is valued at around £8m by the Italian side and had attracted interest from city rivals Rangers.

Hopefully, the Scottish giants will now be able to go on and strike a deal with Frosinone for his services because the Algerian forward could be the perfect signing to help Hogh shine in Glasgow.

Ghedjemis is a left-footed right winger who looks to provide consistent quality as both a scorer and a creator, and it is his ability to be the latter that will appeal to the Danish striker.

The 23-year-old wing wizard ranked highly among Serie B wingers for xA, chances created, and 'big chances' created in the 2025/26 campaign, which shows how effective he can be as a creative force.

He was not rewarded with the assists that his creativity deserved, as his teammates failed to make the most of their chances, but Hogh's goal record suggests that he will not be as wasteful.

The pair could form an exciting partnership at the top end of the pitch for the Scottish giants because O'Neill could combine the Algerian star's creativity with the Dane's finishing prowess to ensure that Celtic blow teams away in the Premiership.

Hogh would surely love to have a winger capable of providing a constant supply of chances for him to score goals, which is why he should be hoping that the club can bring the Frosinone star to Parkhead.

It is not just his creativity that makes him an attractive target, though, as Ghedjemis scored 15 goals from the right flank last term, whilst none of Celtic's right wingers hit the double figures for goals in the Premiership.

The Algeria international, therefore, could be an upgrade on what O'Neill currently has at his disposal as a scorer, on top of being a dream for Hogh with his creative powers.
