The 250 class heads to Millville this weekend with the championship taking another major turn. Sacha Coenen dominated Southwick with a 1-1 sweep, but he will not be racing at Spring Creek, while former points leader Jo Shimoda is out for the remainder of the season after his qualifying crash. That leaves Cole Davies carrying the red plate with just a two-point advantage over Levi Kitchen. Spring Creek’s soft dirt, deep ruts and constantly changing lines will put both riders under pressure, and with only two points separating them, every position in qualifying and both motos could make a major difference in the championship.

250 OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS

Drew Adams was fastest in the second session.

Although the lap times were not quicker overall than those recorded in the opening session, several riders were still able to make improvements. Cole Davies set the early pace and moved to the top of the leaderboard, but his time would not hold for long. Drew Adams continued to find speed as the session progressed and eventually climbed into the number-one position. His lap was not fast enough to eclipse Levi Kitchen’s best time from the first session, but leading the group was still a strong confidence boost for the young Kawasaki rider. Adams held onto the top spot through the remainder of the session and took the checkered flag as the fastest rider on track.

250 SESSION 1 QUALIFYING RESULTS

Julien Beaumer was fast early but would move to seventh by the end of the session.

Things started off slowly in the opening session as the riders took their time learning the track and searching for the fastest lines. Julien Beaumer was the first rider to move to the top of the leaderboard, but his time would not hold for long as the pace continued to build. Chance Hymas then put together a standout lap of his own, showing once again that he is gaining speed and confidence with each passing weekend despite continuing to deal with a shoulder injury. However, it was Levi Kitchen who eventually took control of the session. Kitchen found a clean lap late and posted a time that the rest of the field was unable to match, allowing him to finish the opening session at the top of the timesheets.
