Brendan Allen backs Sean Strickland for his fighter pay rant, but he doesn’t plan to ruffle any feathers with the UFC brass.

Strickland is the reigning UFC middleweight champion, but his status is currently up in the air. While it appears UFC matchmakers want to book Strickland in a rematch against Nassourdine Imavov, the 185-pound titleholder isn’t pleased with his current pay.

Allen was asked about Strickland’s public spat with the higher-ups during the UFC Vegas 122 post-fight press conference. “All In” would like to see fighter pay increased across the board, but he won’t cause grief for UFC management (h/t Bloody Elbow).

“You’ll never hear me b—- about my pay, but I’d love to have more money,” Allen said. “The guys that don’t need to fight, that can speak up, and make those stances for money, God bless you. I wish I could do that. I’m just a dumb redneck from Louisiana. I’m happy with what I get paid. I’m doing s— people wish they could.

“There’s many people where I’m from that wish they could make what I make, that can do what I do. “So I’m very thankful. I don’t want to feel like I’m greedy or something like that, but hats off to Sean for speaking up, for trying to get more money, because if you look at the scope of things based on the statistics that are out there, we are underpaid. “But f— that, I ain’t trying to get canceled, at least from the bosses. I like my paycheck, f—. They know I like my paycheck. I need that s—. My car collection is still growing. My house is still going. I didn’t mean nothing by it, Hunter [Campbell]. I apologize.”

Allen competed this past Saturday in the UFC Vegas 122 main event. He halted Christian Leroy Duncan’s five-fight winning streak with a guillotine choke submission in the final frame. With another victory on his resume, Allen is targeting a grudge match against Dricus du Plessis, and he hopes that bout will eventually lead to a title bout.
