Clippers guard Jordan Miller underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn left rotator cuff sustained during an offseason workout and will be reevaluated in six months, sources tell ESPN.
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) August 26, 2026The timing creates significant uncertainty around Miller’s availability for the 2026-27 season. A six-month reevaluation would place his next major medical assessment near the end of February, meaning the Clippers could be without the 26-year-old wing for most, if not all, of the regular season.
Miller was coming off his most productive NBA campaign, appearing in 60 games for the Clippers and averaging 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 22.1 minutes. He shot 53.1% from the field and posted a 57.9% effective field-goal percentage, while converting 34.5% of his 1.8 three-point attempts per game.
His role expanded substantially from the previous season. Miller played 11.4 minutes per game across 37 appearances in 2024-25, then nearly doubled his playing time in 2025-26 while increasing his scoring from 4.1 to 10.0 points per game.
The Clippers finished 42-40 last season and reached the Western Conference Play-In Tournament.
The injury also comes shortly after Miller re-signed with the Clippers on July 9. Los Angeles has since undergone a major roster transition, trading Kawhi Leonard to Toronto and adding Brandon Ingram, Max Strus, Rui Hachimura and Bradley Beal while also drafting Keaton Wagler with the No. 5 overall pick.
Miller’s absence could further affect the Clippers’ wing rotation during that transition. The projected starting group features Darius Garland, rookie Wagler, Ingram, Hachimura and Brook Lopez, while Strus, Derrick Jones Jr. and other perimeter players could face additional responsibility if Miller remains sidelined into the regular season.
Miller has played 105 NBA games across three seasons, averaging 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16.9 minutes. His 2025-26 season represented a clear step forward statistically, as he produced career highs in games played, minutes, points, rebounds and assists.
