MMA legend Jorge Masvidal still firmly believes that Jose Aldo is the greatest of all time in the featherweight division.

When you talk about the best featherweights to ever compete in mixed martial arts, Jose Aldo has to be included on that list. He has an incredible body of work behind him and while he has certainly accumulated his fair share of losses, he has also been in there with some of the best to ever do it in his weight class.

Aldo’s style and the way in which he was able to deal with adversity has been praised in the media by many over the years, and that’s also been the case with his fellow fighters.

In a recent podcast, Jorge Masvidal gave his thoughts on Aldo’s legacy at featherweight.

Masvidal praises Aldo’s legacy

“To me, it’s Jose,” Masvidal said on “Deep Waters.” “I don’t think nobody can surpass Jose. What Jose did at WEC and then what he did in the UFC, those early fights of him at 145, I don’t think nobody can surpass that. He was just too incredible.

“Too much of an athlete that understood fighting every single position, could wrestle defensively, offensively, his jiu-jitsu was amazing, his striking. I think the best defensive wrestler ever. …I think Jose is the best ever. I think in his prime, he beats Volk, and he beats Max.”

It’s a big shout from Gamebred, but regardless of whether you agree with it or not, there is no denying that Jose was one of the best in the world in his prime.
