Former NBA guard Delonte West will return to the NBA 2K video game series in NBA 2K27, marking his first appearance in the franchise since NBA 2K14.

2K has reached out to West about adding him to the upcoming game. The company is expected to contact him next year to arrange direct deposit and royalty payments connected to his appearance.

The reported return would give West a place in the game for the first time in more than a decade. His last appearance came during the NBA 2K14 era, while his NBA career ended after the 2011-12 season.

West played eight NBA seasons for the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks. He appeared in 432 regular-season games, making 258 starts, and averaged 9.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 27.4 minutes per game.

The guard’s most productive NBA season came in 2006-07 with Boston, when he averaged 12.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 42.7% from the field and 36.5% from three-point range. He later became an important rotation player for Cleveland alongside LeBron James.

West’s best three-point shooting season came in 2008-09, when he shot 39.9% from beyond the arc while averaging 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 64 games. He also averaged 1.5 steals that season.

His return to NBA 2K comes as West attempts to establish a new career as a content creator. Popular streamer N3on recently gave West $50,000 and provided him with a complete streaming setup, including an iPhone, professional microphones, tripods and portable charging equipment.

During an August 23 livestream, N3on also helped West establish a verified and monetized Kick account under his name. The streamer reportedly helped West secure a $100,000 deal with Kick as part of an effort to provide him with a more sustainable source of income.

West has previously dealt with periods of homelessness and addiction, making his current efforts to rebuild his career a significant part of his recent public profile.
