Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe WBC super featherweight champion renewed his criticism of Stevenson and insisted their Houston sparring sessions unfolded exactly as he previously described
O’Shaquie Foster is again standing by his long-running claims about sparring sessions with Shakur Stevenson, insisting the former lightweight champion struggled during their time in the gym together. The comments came days after Foster’s victory over Raymond Ford and continued a public feud that has intensified in recent months.
“He know what happened in that gym,” Foster said on the Ariel Helwani Show about Shakur.
“He got ran out of there. That’s why he wasn’t training in Houston and he wasn’t fighting like he wasn’t training in Houston. After that summer after we had those sparring sessions and the gym got too hot for him while we was sparring, that’s part of the reason he ran out the ring. It got too hot for him, and I was cooking. He changed up his whole camp and started training in Houston and trying to get used to that heat and everything.”
Foster said the sessions took place around 2020 or 2021 when the two were sparring regularly.
“It wasn’t recent, but we were sparring a lot around that time,” Foster said. “He definitely remember every session. He know what’s up.”
The comments came after Foster and Stevenson exchanged words following Foster’s unanimous decision win over Raymond Ford on Saturday night in Houston. Foster called Stevenson into the ring after the fight, continuing a rivalry that has grown increasingly public in recent months.
Stevenson and members of his team have previously disputed Foster’s version of the sparring sessions. Foster, however, made it clear he has no plans to back away from the claim.
“He can say what he want,” Foster said. “We know what happened inside his heart. Y’all can see how he respond to everything. Y’all know a liar when y’all see one.”
