UFC lightweight star Renato Moicano isn’t happy with Brian Ortega after the former title challenger’s latest short-notice pullout.

UFC 331 featured a last-minute switchup just days before the major event in Los Angeles.

A lightweight bout between Renato Moicano and Brian Ortega was canceled after Ortega withdrew due to an injury. Ortega has since released a statement on his decision to withdraw from UFC 331, and as of this writing, a timeline for his return remains uncertain.

In the meantime, Moicano was removed from UFC 331 and was rewarded with a UFC Fight Night main event booking next month against promising lightweight Tom Nolan.

Despite the UFC matchmakers successfully getting him another fight, Moicano didn’t hold back on Ortega after his latest fight cancellation.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Moicano made his first public remarks since the Ortega fight fell through.

“This is something I didn’t expect at all,” Moicano said of Ortega’s withdrawal.

“Simply put, the easiest fight in the division just slipped through my fingers, and I’m already p—–, already angry, but there’s nothing I can do. One thing I’ve been asked (in the lead up to this fight) is ‘Moicano aren’t you afraid the fight will fall through again?’, I said, ‘There is no way Ortega is going to chicken out again; there’s absolutely no way, there’s absolutely no way this fight isn’t happening at UFC 331’.

“He hasn’t fought in over two years and this is the second fight he’s withdrawn from with only a week’s notice,” Moicano continued. “What that son of a b—- doesn’t know is that you need to make weight; you spend money on training, I spent hours without making any content on YouTube, nowadays I’m a YouTuber.” (h/t Bloody Elbow)

Moicano hasn’t fought since submitting Chris Duncan in April.
