Tyson Fury says he is ready to challenge for a world title again after moving into the No. 1 position in the WBC heavyweight rankings. The former champion made his intentions clear on social media as questions continue surrounding Oleksandr Usyk’s ordered WBC defense against Agit Kabayel.
Fury now has his sights set on becoming a three-time world champion.
“WBC boxing #1 for June 2026, let’s see how the land lies in the coming months! I’m number 1 ranked now and ready to step in for the world title next. The world is mine. #3x #incoming,” Fury wrote on Instagram.
The WBC title is currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated Fury twice in 2024. However, the championship picture could change in the coming months after the WBC ordered Usyk to face mandatory challenger Agit Kabayel.
Kabayel, who currently holds the WBC interim title, has said he expects his next bout to be for the full championship. If Usyk chooses not to make the defense, the belt could become vacant.
Before any title opportunity materializes, Fury is expected to return in a warm-up fight later this summer. He is then scheduled to face Anthony Joshua in one of the biggest heavyweight fights in British boxing history, provided both men come through their respective interim bouts and remain on course for the November showdown.
