Romain Febvre thrilled the French fans by winning the first race of the Motocross of Nations. Behind the Frenchman, Jorge Prado finished second; the Spaniard led for a long time but lost it due to a crash.

Lucas Coenen came in third ahead of Guillem Farres and Jan Pancar, who impressively finished fifth.

A lot happened in the first race; in the first lap, Mathis Vallin had a heavy crash. The Frenchman couldn’t continue, and Levi Kitchen rode in the top ten for a while, but the American ended up outside the top twenty after a crash.

The standings after the first race: Spain is in a provisional first place (6 pts) ahead of Belgium (15 pts) and the Netherlands (23 pts)
