— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) September 5, 2025Harper’s injury comes less than two months after San Antonio officially signed the former Rutgers standout. The franchise had high expectations for the 19-year-old guard following a standout college career.
At Rutgers, Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in the 2024–25 season while shooting 48.4 percent from the field. His size, athleticism, and ability to score at all three levels made him one of the most coveted prospects in this year’s draft.
The Spurs selected Harper second overall, pairing him with Victor Wembanyama as part of their long-term rebuild.
